The Stixx journey began in September 2015 when Manx filmmaker & gelato lover Rory Dorling came up with an idea to have an offering where customers could create their own high quality Gelato Stick. Upon doing some inital research, he discovered that there are similar concepts that offer these products in other parts of the world.
After some inital testing in his kitchen, he decided he needed some further education and headed to the home of Gelato, Italy in January 2016 to fully
research what is required to make high quality Italian Gelato on a stick.
After returning from Italy, Stixx was born. With the support
of his family & girlfriend, Rory spent two months tailoring
a menu and offering for the Isle of Man.
In May 2016 the first Stixx counter was launched in one of the
finest recreational spaces on the Isle of Man, Mooragh Park.
Due to overwhelming demand, our second counter was
opened in Douglas at the Sea Terminal in July 2016.
In April 2017 for the start of our second season, our third
counter opened in Cafe Delicious in Port Erin.
With many more exciting ideas in the pipeline, this is only the start of the Stixx journey and we would like to thank all of our customers for being a part of it.
